shy blossom
Alt/Rock/Indie – Southwest Florida
Born from the sun-drenched music scene of Southwest Florida, shy blossom is an alt/rock/indie four-piece making waves since early 2024. With a dynamic blend of raw emotion and infectious energy, the band has quickly earned a reputation for heartfelt songwriting and powerful live performances across Florida, with their eyes locked on the national stage.
Fronted by Adriana McDonald (Lead Vocals/Guitar), the band also features Abel Ramirez (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals), Julie Copithorn (Drums), and Preston Lich (Bass).
shy blossom began as a solo project with Adriana crafting the foundation of what would become the band’s debut album, Bloom. Armed with just an acoustic guitar and eleven original songs, she teamed up with producer Howard Wulkan at Farmadelica Sound Studio to bring the tracks to life. Legendary drummer David Abbruzzese (formerly of Pearl Jam) contributed to five songs, while Pierson Whicker, a local standout, provided drums for the rest. Bassist Chris Rousseau—a brief but early part of the band’s journey—rounded out the rhythm section, with Abel stepping in to add electric guitar textures that hinted at the sound to come.
Their follow-up, a four-song EP dropping May 9th, continues that evolution. Recorded again at Farmadelica and Jacob engelking, as well as mixed/mastered by Jacob Engelking, the EP showcases Abel’s musical arrangements and a more collaborative sound. The EP features, again, Chris Rousseau on bass and Pierson Whicker on drums.
Currently working on their third release—this time entirely written and recorded with the full current lineup—shy blossom promises a bold new chapter that’s heavier, grittier, and unmistakably their own.
They’ve already shared the stage with rising acts like Shallow Side and Lightwatch, and recently opened for Sister Hazel at The Ranch Concert Hall in Fort Myers. With momentum building, now’s the perfect time to dive into what shy blossom has to offer.
